Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows: how to check where computers obtain updates

You can check update settings for Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows, current versions, either centrally from the computer on which Enterprise Console is installed, or you can check them locally using the Sophos Anti-Virus window.

What to do

Checking centrally

  1. Open Enterprise Console.
  2. Select the group for which you want to view the update settings.
  3. Click the 'Updating policy' icon in the toolbar.
  4. In the 'Set updating policy ...' dialog box, select the type of computer (i.e. the operating system) that you want to check, click 'Configure'.
  5. In the next dialog box, select the 'Primary server' tab to view the source from which updates are obtained.

If you entered details in the 'Secondary server' tab, this information will be used if the primary server is unavailable.
If access to the update location is via a proxy, select the 'Proxy details' tab to view proxy details.

Checking locally

  1. Locate and right-click the Sophos shield icon in the system tray.
  2. Select 'Configure...'
  3. Select the 'Primary server' tab to view the source from which updates are obtained.

If you entered details in the 'Secondary server' tab, this information will be used if the primary server is unavailable.
If access to the update location is via a proxy, select the 'Proxy details' tab to view details.
