Sophos product and version
Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, 7.3.2
What to do
- On the client computer, according to which operating system you are running, navigate to one of the following:
- for Windows 2000/2003
C:\Program Files\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Config\folder - for Vista/Windows 2008
C:\Programdata\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Config\folder
- for Windows 2000/2003
- Using 'Notepad', open the
iconn.cfgfile - Find the line
AllowLocalConfig = 0 - Change the
0to1 - Save the
iconn.cfgfile - Close 'Notepad'
- In the 'System Tray' right-click the Sophos shield.
- Select the 'Configure updating...' option. The 'Properties for Sophos AutoUpdate' dialog opens.
- In the 'Primary server' tab enter the credentials of an administrative user. Click 'OK'.
- In the 'System Tray' double-click the Sophos shield. This should trigger an update.
Note : If the update is triggered, this tells you that the problem probably lies with the permissions/credentials of the Sophos_AU_Client user on the server.
