Sophos data leakage protection is designed to reduce the risk of accidental data transfer by employees.

The Data Control policy can be configured to monitor file types, names or content during:

• The transfer of files onto storage devices (removable storage, optical media and disk-based media)
• The upload of files into applications (corporate web browsers, email clients and IM clients)

There are a number of pre-configured rules to help you get started, but you can also create your own rules from scratch using the data control policy GUI or using a PERL api. Please see the help in Enterprise Console for more information.
