Best Practice: subscribing to Sophos Anti-Virus for Netware from Enterprise Console version 4

When you add a subscription to Sophos Anti-Virus for Netware in Enterprise Console, you will have to add each Netware server as a separate distribution point in Sophos Update Manager.

A change has already been incorporated into Sophos Anti-Virus for Netware to ensure that the Netware server will always update from an Update Manager when it has the choice of updating from EM Library or the Update Manager. Therefore, the only change you must make is in Enterprise Console.

Best Practice

In order to ensure that there is only one package sent to any one netware server, please ensure that you:

• assign each Netware server to a specific Update Manager.
• Set up only one subscription for each Netware server.

Changing Netware subscriptions

To change the version of the software to which a Netware server is subscribed, (for instance, to change from using a fixed version to using the recommended version):

1. Right-click the Update Manager assigned to the Netware server and select View/Edit Software Subscription.
2. In the window that appears, find the Sophos for Netware entry and select the new subscription type in the drop-down box.
