The Envelopes folder in Endpoint Security and Control
The Envelopes folder in Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ (inglés) and Endpoint Security and Control version 9 (inglés) is part of the Remote Messaging System (RMS), which is used to communicate between the endpoint and the management server. The Envelopes folder is a storage location for messages that cannot currently be sent (because the endpoint or server is currently unavailable, for example).
The envelopes folder is located at %allusersprofile%\Application Data\Sophos\Remote Management System\3\Router\
To clear the Envelopes folder:
- Stop the Sophos Message Router service (Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Press return).
- Navigate to the folder:
%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Sophos\Remote Management System\3\Router\ - Rename Envelopes to EnvelopesBak.
- Move the file
table_router.txt(located in the Router folder) into the EnvelopesBak folder - Start the Sophos Message Router service.
NOTE: A new Envelopes folder will be automatically created immediately and a new table_router.txt will be created once communication starts.
